My path to wildlife biology and conservation

I grew up in the mountains of North Carolina. The beauty and the bounty of organisms in my own back yard inspired an ongoing curiosity for creatures and the natural world. Today, I harness that curiosity to study animal ecology and strategies for conservation. I received my BS from Davidson College in environmental studies and recently completed my MS in wildlife ecology and management at the University of Georgia's Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources.  Following grad school at UGA, I served as a visiting lecturer in the Biology Department at Towson University where I taught General Zoology.

Currently, I am a PhD student at the University of Florida where I will study the effects of invasive pythons on mammal populations in the Everglades.
